His death was announced in the early hours of Thursday, January 26, 2023.

“As salaam alaykum. InnaLillah wainna Ilaihu raajiun. We announce the demise of the Grand Chief Imam Of Oyo. May Almighty Allah grant him Jannatul Firdaos. Amen 🤲🏻”
