Engage government in constructive dialogue, MPAC urges Nigerian youths

…Celebrates nation’s 64th independence anniversary

Muslim Public Affairs Centre (MPAC) has urged Nigerians to engage government in constructive dialogues and peaceful resolutions on national issues rather than resort to violence or other crooked means.

The centre made this appeal in a press statement signed by its Executive Director, Alhaji Disu Kamor, on the occasion of the 64th Independence Anniversary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, today, 1st October, 2024.

“As we celebrate this milestone, we urge all Nigerians to engage in constructive dialogue and peaceful resolution of conflicts.”

It also urged Nigerians to promote peace and inclusivity, which stand above all differences.

“Let’s also promote unity and inclusivity, transcending ethnic, religious, and cultural differences, while fostering a culture of patriotism, integrity, and accountability. Let’s also support initiatives that promote piety, economic growth, education, healthcare, and social justice.”

The centre admonished Nigerian leaders on accountability and transparency.

“We call on our leaders to discharge the trust of the offices they are holding faithfully and know that one day, they will be held to account by God Almighty. Leadership is built on the foundation of trust, accountability, and service to the nation. Leaders are expected to embody the values of justice, compassion, sincerity, sacrifice and humility, striving to create a society that reflects these principles. Governance must be transparent, and leadership must be accountable to both the people and to God.”

It urged Nigerians to continue working together:

“As we celebrate Nigeria’s independence, we reiterate our commitment to working together towards a brighter future. May Allah (SWT) continue to bless and protect Nigeria. We pray specially for peace and stability in Nigeria, wisdom and guidance for our leaders, prosperity, and well-being for all Nigerians.”

It extended heartfelt gratitude to Allah, The Almighty for the favours of freedom, diversity, unity, and bounties that the country enjoys.
