It was a day of joy and celebration on Saturday, August 9, 2025 as Sherifat Oshoala – a promising newscaster and younger sister to Super Falcons forward, Asisat Oshoala – walked down the aisle with her longtime partner, AbdulMajeed Orolade, in a heartfelt celebration held at the Lekki Central Mosque, Lekki, Lagos.

The much awaited and most anticipated shindig began with the aqd nikaah (marriage solemnisation) conducted inside the mosque by the Chief Imam of Lekki Muslim Ummah (LEMU), Sheikh Ridwan Jamiu, who delivered an insightful lecture on building a harmonious home in line with Islamic teachings.

Muslim News gathered that Sherifat and AbdulMajeed were formally pronounced as husband and wife in the presence of families, friends and witnesses, in full compliance with Islamic rites.

The couple, both first-class graduates of Mass Communication from the University of Lagos, embody academic brilliance. The bride further distinguished herself with a Master’s degree from the same department, graduating with a distinction.
After the solemnisation, the joyous celebration continued in the beautifully decorated mosque’s hall, where the newlyweds changed into their reception attire. The event featured interactive games, goodwill messages, heartfelt words of advice, and an abundance of food and drinks, creating a warm and lively atmosphere.

Guests described the occasion as a perfect blend of Islamic tradition, scholarly achievement, and genuine love – a promising start to a blessed union.
