NAHCON concludes 2026 Hajj accommodation arrangements ahead of Saudi deadlines

Prof Saleh Usman

Muslim News learnt that Saudi authorities fixed February 8, 2026, as the deadline for all participating countries to conclude and upload their Hajj accommodation arrangements, warning that failure to meet the timeline could jeopardise a country’s operational standing.

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has concluded accommodation arrangements for Nigerian pilgrims participating in the 2026 Hajj, securing lodging facilities in both Makkah and Madinah ahead of the deadlines set by Saudi Arabian authorities.

The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Commission, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, disclosed this development in a statement issued on Monday by his Technical Assistant (Media), Ahmad Muazu.

He said the successful completion of the accommodation uploads and their subsequent approval by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah marked a major milestone in Nigeria’s preparations for the 2026 pilgrimage.

According to the statement, the timely conclusion of the arrangements aligns with the directive of the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Kashim Shettima, GCON, who had instructed that all critical Hajj operations be finalised within approved Saudi timelines to protect Nigeria’s operational interests.

Professor Usman acknowledged the guidance and support of the Vice President throughout the process, noting that the achievement was also made possible through the efforts of a high-level Nigerian delegation to Saudi Arabia, the NAHCON Board, the Nusuk Masar team, the leadership of the Forum of State Pilgrims Welfare Boards, NAHCON staff, and other relevant stakeholders involved in the accommodation process.

With the conclusion of the accommodation arrangements, Nigeria has secured its housing quota for the 2026 Hajj and is now among countries that have fulfilled this critical requirement within the prescribed Saudi timelines.

The Commission stated that it will now proceed to the next phase of operational preparations for the 2026 Hajj, as it continues efforts to ensure a smooth and successful pilgrimage for Nigerian pilgrims.
