In a joyous celebration of faith, family, and love, the families of the late Alhaji AbdulKareem Muhammad and Sheikh Dhikrullah Shafi’i, Grand Mufti of the Conference of Islamic Organizations, warmly hosted the ‘Aqdu and Walimotun-Nikaah’ of their children, Bashiroh Omobolanle and Majza’ah Olarewaju, on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Taoheed Memorial College (TMC), Mowe, Ogun State.
The sacred union was solemnized by Imam Abdullah Zubair, with a lecture delivered by Imam Qaseem Badrudeen on the rights and responsibilities of husband and wife.
Emphasizing love, patience, and mutual respect, the lecture reminded attendees that a husband should provide wholeheartedly for his wife while the wife should be obedient, patient, and supportive, a foundation for a harmonious Islamic marriage.
Majza’ah is an accomplished scholar and professional. He received his Arabic and Islamic education at Markaz Sahwah, Bariga, Lagos for Idaadiyah, and Thannawiyyah at Ibadullah School, Amukoko, Orile-Iganmu.
He later earned a BSc in Actuarial Science and Insurance from the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and a Diploma in Arabic from Al-Azhar Sharif, Cairo, Egypt.
An active member of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), Majza’ah served as Naibul Amir and Financial Secretary at the Abule Oja/Ijesha Center Branch, Yaba. Today, he is a realtor and self-employed professional, blending faith, scholarship, and entrepreneurship.
Bashiroh, on the other hand, is a dedicated educator and leader. She earned her NCE from the Federal College of Education, Akoka, Yaba, specializing in Integrated Science/Biology, and a BSc in Biology Education from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, affiliated with YabaTech. Bashiroh also served as Amirah of MSSN, YabaTech Epe Campus, and is actively engaged in teaching while managing her own business.
The event highlighted not only the joy of marriage but also the commitment of both families to nurturing a relationship rooted in Islamic values, mutual respect, and lifelong partnership.
As Bashiroh and Majza’ah begin their journey together, their union stands as an inspiring example for young Muslim couples, demonstrating the balance of education, faith, and responsibility in building a strong and harmonious marriage.
