Al Wadud Family

The Wadud Family is set to premiere their much-anticipated Islamic-themed family film, ‘Al-Usr-Yusra‘, a story that highlights faith, patience, and hope in the face of life’s challenges.

Muslim News Midweek Entertainment gathered that the film, which means “After hardship comes ease,” as taken from Surah Ash-Sharh (Al-Inshirah) 94:5-6, is aimed at offering families an alternative cinematic experience rooted in Islamic values and culture.

Aliyu Ilias, the story writer and one of the cast members said the film is about family, faith, and resilience. “We wanted to show how a family can stay steadfast in Islam even during life’s toughest moments. It is a story that encourages families to trust in Allah, support one another, and find hope after hardship,” he said.

Speaking with our Correspondent, Ilias added that the film portrays a struggling family who remain committed to Islamic teachings while navigating daily trials.

According to him, Al-Usr-Yusra the movie seeks to deepen Islamic understanding at home, teaching families the practice of Sunnah and the beauty of enduring life’s challenges together.

Running for approximately one and a half hours, the cast includes Nafisat Adebayo, Salmat Aliyu, Ikhlas Ilias, Ahmad Ilias, Jumart Ahmed (Doro), and Imtiyaz Ilias. The movie was edited by Aliyu Adebayo Adifa and directed by Queen Adeshewa Oniyinde.

The premiere in Abuja is scheduled for 22nd March 2026 at Silverbird Cinema, following Eid-el-Fitri, while the Lagos premiere will take place on 28th May 2026 after Eid Kabir.

The Wadud Family is inviting Muslims, non-Muslims, and lovers of meaningful cinema from across the states and neighboring communities to attend an evening of reflection, inspiration, and celebration of faith and perseverance in a welcoming and conducive atmosphere.
