Turkey has delivered large medical equipment to the Nigerian government to battle the rampaging Coronavirus pandemic.
Currently, the nation’s Coronavirus cases have risen to 232 as at Sunday, April 5, amidst lockdown in several states, including Lagos, the epicentre of the dreadful disease.
Air Peace Airline took delivery of the medical supplies from Turkey on Saturday.
The Airline tweeted on Sunday, saying “COVID-19: Air Peace on Saturday, April 4, 2020 delivered medical supplies from Turkey, on behalf of the Federal Government of Nigeria.”
Few days ago, Turkey sent military aircraft delivering medical aid and supplies to Spain and Italy in efforts to help them combat the Coronavirus pandemic as two of the countries worst hit by the crisis.
In the spirit of humanity, a similar gesture was also extended to Iran by the Recep Toyyip Erdogan-led government in Turkey, in the fight against the pandemic.
It would also be recalled that Turkey opened a 180-bed hospital in occupied Gaza, Palestine to stem Coronavirus spread.
Turkey has taken a series of measures to try to limit the spread of COVID-19, from closing schools, quarantining around 50 towns and areas and imposing a 24-hour curfew for people 65 or older.
