Following the death of Senator Ishaq Abiola Ajimobi and the controversies surrounding the plan to bury him in his Central Mosque in Oke Ado, the Chairman of the Mosque Management Committee, Alhaji Murisiku Siyanbade has made some clarifications on the issue.
In a statement being circulated on social media which was later confirmed by Muslim News, Alhaji Siyanbade explained that only the Janazah prayer would be offered in the mosque, noting that his interment would not take place within the premises of the mosque as earlier reported.
It reads: “H.E. Sen. Ajimobi will not be buried in the premises of the mosque. Prayers will only be offered by a few invited clerics and close family members in the mosque.
Alhaji Siyanbade, who also doubles as the Secretary of the Muslim Community of Oyo State (MUSCOYS) emphasised that COVID-19 protocols would be strictly adhered to during the Janazah proceedings.
“We are very mindful of all the protocols and the limitations on social gathering, which we will never run foul of.
“The information that came out was only meant not to keep us all in the dark. Your concerns that things be done rightly is most appreciated
“May Almighty Allah reward us all and accept the return of our brother, Sen. Ishaq Abiola Ajimobi,” he wrote.
