The Deputy Secretary-General, Southeast of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Imam Adam Idoko has returned to his Creator.
Imam Idoko, one of the most influential Muslims in the South-South died on Wednesday, October 14, at the Medical Centre, Abuja.
In his condolence message, the publisher, Mallam AbdurRasheed Abubakar eulogised the late Chief Imam of the University of Nigeria (UNN) Nsukka as he sought Allah’s forgiveness and mercy upon him.
“This is yet another vacuum vacated by a person of honour, prestige and knowledge”, said the publisher, “especially in the face of our struggle to fill the vacuum left by our past scholars.
“Hailed from Ogute Enugu-Ezike in Nsukka, Enugu State, Sheikh Idoko had a selfless personality and strove for the propagation of the religion of Allah. He was an outspoken scholar from whom many benefitted.
“On behalf of Nigeria’s most authoritative Islamic newspaper’s team, I pray Allah to forgive our Imam’s sins, overlook his shortcomings and trespassings, shower His mercy upon him and widen his grave.
“I equally, humbly sympathise with the family of Imam Idoko, NSCIA, University of Nigeria Muslim Community, the Enugu Muslim Ummah, and the entirety of the Muslim Ummah over this irreplaceable loss and grant us the ability to bear it. May He unite us all in Jannatul Firdaous. Amin”.
