No student will be allowed to use Hijab in my school
The Principal of Aguda Community Senior Secondary School, Surulere, Lagos, Mrs Ajilore Adeola has dared the Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, saying that no Muslim student will be allowed to use the Hijab in the school she leads.
The Principal reportedly made the disclosure in a meeting with the executives of MSSN Coker Aguda Area Council, who visited the school early today, Monday.
The Area Council executives, led by their Secretary, Mallam Rasheed Taiwo were in the school to ensure that female students who were willing to use the Hijab on their school uniforms are allowed inside the school premises, in line with the directive from the Lagos State Government to permit and facilitate such.
Mr Taiwo revealed that the leadership of the student body received distress calls from the students, who lamented non-compliance with the Lagos State Government circular approving the use of the Hijab by the school principal.
“We decided to come here today, Monday as early as 7:45 am. We met the Vice Principal, Mrs Tijani, a Muslim, who listened to our explanations and allowed the students inside the school with their Hijabs.
“It was however sad that when the Principal, Mrs Ajilore arrived and saw some of the students in Hijab, she became angry and summoned them. She insisted that the Hijab will not be allowed in the school. Those who want to wear it can do so after school hours, she said.
“She later distributed Christian berets to the students. Those who resisted were sent out of the school premises”, Mr Taiwo said.
Muslim News can authoritatviely confirm that five students were sent out of the school for refusing to remove their Hijabs. The affected students are Mariam Alabi, Ibrahim Fathia, Ajao Aishat, Shomefun Nafisat and Idris Mutiat.
One of the victims of the Hijab assault, Fathia Ibrahim, an SSS Ic student, was later allowed to write her first term geography paper in the Vice Principal’s office with beret on after her mates had already finished theirs.
It would be recalled that the Lagos State Government had on November 13 sent a circular to its schools, approving the use of the Hijab by Muslim female students.
Some school principals and administrators, including the principal of Aguda Community Senior Secondary School have refused to comply with the circular, thereby preventing students from using Hijabs on their school uniforms.

No way…
Too much of injustice in this country. Who is the principal to say no to the directive of the state governor. Pls Justice must prevail
What is affection of hijab to the christen people? Because they always against hijab, this makes me to cens that hijab must be affecting them where ever they see it, after all according to the picture that they display as mother Mary(may Almighty Allah continue to bless her) she always with hijab, then why christen of today are waging war against hijab? There must be something between this. If I can see everyone of the Christian to explain so that people will understand why Christian are always against hijab. I am pleading and pray that Almighty Allah (God) should direct us to the right and through of His way. Amin.
May Almighty Allah lead us through ooo
Tough time never last only tough people last. With the crop of leaders at the helms of affairs in MSSN LAGOS SYATE AREA UNIT presently I strongly believe that with their resilience and doggedness victory is certain. Equally the issue should not be limited to MSSN alone other Muslims organisations should participate though am aware about Hijab Advocacy and Muric headed by Hajia Mutiat Orolu Balogun and Prof Ishaq Lakin Akintila respectively, other Muslims professional bodies Should equally be active in this regard and finally we must take prayer along our plight.
That is total disrespect to the directives of the government of the state.
Such an individual should be held to face the consequence of insulting the governor or the state by Subjecting his directive to ridicule.
What a people who prefers that their daughters walk exposing their sensitive curves for male classmate and teacher to take pleasure in.
When the state government has already passed a law to this effect why is she proven to act otherwise… Is she above the law or what’s her challenge with hijab wearers or don’t she know that is part of modesty in Islam. Does hijab contributing negatively to the learners or to their respective teachers? Lagos state government should please look into this and call those principal to order.
Let’s do street justice for her. She’s nobody as far as street is concerned!
Asalam Alaykum warahmotulohi wabarokatum, does she above the law pass by the government, what she did is ridiculous&she must be prosecuted, does she wants to Christianized the students in government school, fanatic, get her sacked.
Nigeria religions are multiple,Christians are propagating their religion abnormally, why always Christians hijack a steering from the drivers, why keep standing behind the curtain, sweeping under the carpet&fueling the fire, even though which verse in the bible mention a word bible&christain, they should mind their foots unless they will land in the hell’s hole.
