The Lagos State Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo), his members, alongside other prestigious dignitaries will grace the 2020 Annual State Public Lecture of The Muslim Congress (TMC) slated for today, Sunday, January 26 at Eti Osa LCDA frontage, Lekki-Epe Expressway, Sangotedo, Lagos by 4: 30pm.
The Wakeel (Coordinator) of The Muslim Congress, Lagos State Chapter, Alhaji Mikail Orioloowo Animashaun made the disclosure in a press release, saying that, “This year’s edition of the State Open Air Lecture is tailored to address the hydra-headed menace in the Society, Drug Abuse and Gambling.”
The former Honourable Commissioner of Lagos State, Ministry of Home Affairs, Hon. (Dr) AbdulHakeem AbdulLateef will be the discussant of the lecture themed” Drug Abuse and Gambling: Manifestation on an Ailing society”.
According to Alhaji Mikail, “The upsurge in violent crimes mostly attributable to the social maladies calls for an intensified collaborative action to arrest the rising menace before it leads to such irreversible consequences on the youths who command the greatest percentage of the population.”
In line with this, The Muslim Congress has decided to stage the lecture alongside with The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and Lagos State Ministry of Youths and Social Development.
The NURTW boss, Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo), members of the council of Imams and clerics, Lagos Chapter of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Community Based organisations, traditional leaders among other dignitaries are honourable attendees of this lecture.
