In Ibadan, Imam IbnulQayyim Foundation is putting smiles on the faces of Fasting Muslims

In the spirit of Ramadan characterised by limitations on social gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, not less than 70 needy families in the Ibadan capital city of Oyo State have benefited from the distribution of welfare packages by an Islamic charitable organisation.

The foundation, Imam IbnulQayyim Islamic Foundation dolled out bags of rice, beans, yam flour amongst others and also cash, specifically to selected 20 widows and divorcees.

The foundation known for the annual distribution exercise since its establishment in 2015 did not fail on its doings as the exercise took place yesterday, Friday, 24th April at the Ifelodun area of the state capital.

Welcoming the recipients to the occasion, the Director of the Foundation, Ustadh Rasheed Adekunle Haashim emphasised on the foundation’s commitment and unrelenting effort to continue to provide relief materials and welfare packages to Muslims in the glorious month.

“Let me on behalf of the Imam IbnulQayyim Islamic Foundation appreciate you for honouring the foundation’s invitation. The foundation has been embarking on provision of relief materials and welfare packages to Muslims in the blessed month of Ramadan and beyond since five years ago. But this 1441 edition coincides with Covid-19 pandemic.

“The management of Imam IbnulQayyim Islamic Foundation will not relent their efforts of making life comfortable for the Muslim ummah.”

Ustadh Haashim, urging well-to-do Nigerians to support the foundation in all its projects by donating generously to the foundation, buttressed that “Let me assure our donors of the judicious use of their donations as the motto of the foundation is: “Caring for the less privileged with the fear of Allah.”

“The noble Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, ‘Whoever relieves a believer from one of the difficulties of this world, Allah will relieve him from one of the difficulties of the Day of Resurrection. Whoever makes things easy for one in distress, Allah will make things easy for him in this world and in the hereafter.’ (Transmitted by Muslim).

“I profoundly appreciate all our donors and pray Almighty Allah in His infinite mercy reward you all with Firdaws and provide for you more from His Bounties,” he prayed.

During the distribution, the foundation was compelled to extend its kind gesture outside its budget when some persons stormed the center requesting to be part of the beneficiaries.

When Muslim News interacted with some of the recipients, they could not hide their joy while praying continuously for the foundation.

One of the recipients, Mr Luqman expressed his unalloyed appreciation to the management of the foundation and supplicated to Allah to continue to provide for the foundation and her supporters.

Imam Nurudeen, thanking the foundation on behalf of his members who were beneficiaries, said “We are very happy and appreciate this kind gesture of the foundation. May Allah continue to guide and be with them and make us witness many Ramadan on the earth surface”.
