UNILORIN appoints Abdulbaqi, Adedimeji, Aliagan, Ambali, Salman, others as Professors

A number of Muslims in academia were among the lecturers elevated to Professorial cadre by the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Kwara State in its 2020 promotion exercise, Muslim News findings have revealed.

Though the University’s Governing Council chaired by Dr. Abdullah Jibril Oyekan (MFR) has not formally announced their appointment, Muslim News can confirm that some academic staff members scaled through the exercise and can now be addressed as professors in their fields of study.

As at the time of filing this report Tuesday, December 8, the exact number of the newly promoted professors could not be ascertained.

However, the list includes academic top-guns like Prof. Mahfouz Adedimeji (Linguistics), Prof. Abubakar Imam Aliagan (Religions), Prof. Ayinde Fatai Aremu (Political Science).
