One of Nigeria’s leading faith-based organisations, The Muslim Congress (TMC) has announced that its 27th National Islamic Training Programme (NITP) would commence from Friday, December 25 to Sunday, December 27 on a virtual platform.
This year’s camping programme is the first ever virtual camp organised by the Islamic group, following the advent of the second wave of the deadly coronavirus.
The event which is themed, “Mankind at the Crossroads: Islam to the Rescue” will feature erudite scholars who will provoke religious cum intellectual discussions to the admiration of participants.
Muslim News learnt that Sheikh AbdulFatah Thanni, Sheikh Dhikrullah Shafii’, Imam (Dr) Abdullahi Shuaib, Dr Zafaran Adeniyi, the outgoing Amir of TMC, Dr Luqman AbdulRaheem, and a host of other renowned scholars would facilitate various sessions.
In a statement, TMC said the three-day virtual ITP, “is a camping event organised annually to mobilise Muslims’ innate resources; the spiritual, intellectual and physical inclination for the common good.
“For nearly 3 decades, hundreds of thousands of young and elderly Muslims have been propelled to productive heights buoyed by spiritual fortifications and sound mind to be well-aware of their mundane obligations. The enriching impacts of the NITP has kept people coming in droves every year!”
It added: “For many years, the NITP was held at one location, in either Lagos or Ogun State. Following intense agitation by participants few years back, the NITP has now held in no less than 4 centres across the country, namely, Abuja Centre for participants who are residents in the North, Port Harcourt Centre for those in South/East and South South in addition to two (2) in South-Western part of the Country.
