In a bid to converge Muslim faithful for one of the most anticipated camping programmes (Mukhayyam) of the year 2020, Jam’iyyat Junuud Deenil Islamiyyah has concluded plans to stage a 2-day e-conference with the theme; “Beyond the Next Level: My Stake”.
The annual event, which was initially announced to hold physically at Iponri Central Mosque, Lagos will now take place on Zoom platform between Saturday and Sunday, December 26 and 27, 2020 respectively.
Muslim News findings revealed that the sudden change in the choice of platform for the programme was informed by the recent directive of the Lagos State Government, which places restrictions on religious activities due to the possible second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a chat with our Correspondent, the Naibul Ameer and Chairman, Planning Committee of the e-conference, Ustadh Nurudeen Hassan said;
“As a responsible Muslim organisation that wants to see an end to the virus in our country, it is our duty to support the laid down rules by the government. The recent directive of Gov. Sanwo-Olu made our organisation to go virtual instead of the initial physical event.”
In order to cover all areas of interest, knowledgeable scholars of repute have been invited to paddle the canoe of the conference owing to the fact that the programme was necessitated as a result of the troubling times the country as well as the world at large finds itself.
The guest lecturers are: Prof. Luqman Zakariyah, Ustadh Saeed Salman, Alhaji Suleiman Ogunmuyiwa, Ustadh Tirmidhi Adisa Dairo,and the host, Ameer of the organisation, Ustadh Shakirullahi Obale.
Ustadh Hassan, a lecturer at the Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu, said the theme seeks to address the challenges Muslims face in all spheres of their lives; spiritual, socio-economic and political which would be handled with the chosen discourse topics.
Ustadh Hassan harped on the stake of the ummah in reviving the youths from losing their minds as well as the collapse of Muslim homes which has greatly influenced the immediate society negatively.
“We hope that at the end of the conference, a lot of Muslim participants will retrace their steps and come out better from these challenges facing the Ummah,” he added.
