Aminat Idris, the Hijab-wearing taekwondo athlete, who was pregnant during the last National Sports Festival, has welcomed her first child with her husband, Mr. Nurullah Matepo.
The baby girl’s name is Afeefah, meaning, modest, chaste, and virtuous.
The athlete who came to the limelight after winning three medals for Team Lagos at the EDO2020 National Sports Festival, held earlier in the year, shared the good news with Muslim News on Saturday, May 29.
The elated mother told our Correspondent that she delivered the bouncing baby girl on Friday, May 21, at the Randle General Hospital, Surulere, Lagos.
Expressing the joy of motherhood, she said, “Alhamdulillah I feel excited. It’s my first experience with childbirth. I pray Allah guide me through motherhood.”
