The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Founder, Islam Channel, Mohamed Ali Harrath has received the 2020 Global Muslim Media Person of the Year Award.
The award and certificate were presented to him at the medium headquarters in Ley St, Ilford IG2 7BS, United Kingdom, by Dr. Salawu Ahmed, who represented Muslim News Nigeria, the organiser of the prestigious award, with the hashtag #MNAwards2020.
Harrath was announced the winner of the Global category of the award – which celebrates Muslim achievers in all professions across the world, on February 22, 2021, for his “continued promotion and preservation of pristine Islamic values, especially through his media outfit, Islam Channel.”
The Tunisian-born and UK-based activist turned media entrepreneur couldn’t make it physically to Lagos, Southwest, Nigeria for the award presentation ceremonies held on September 18, 2021, but gave a virtual lecture on, “Curbing Negative Media Framing of Muslims: Best Approaches.”
The organisers of the award, Rawshield PR Media, which also publishes #MuslimNews, Nigeria’s most authoritative Islamic Newspaper sent a representative to the UK for the formal presentation of the award to Ali Harrath, the founder of the world’s leading faith-based media.
