BREAKING: Turkish actor, who played Artuk Bey in Dirilis Ertuğrul dies aged 51

The versatile Turkish actor, Ayberk Pekcan, who played the character, Artuk Bey, in the globally acclaimed Turkish historic TV series, Dirilis Ertuğrul, is dead.

Muslim News Islamtainment findings revealed that the multiple-award-winning actor died of lung cancer, on Monday, January 24, 2022 in Mersin, southern Turkey at age 51.

His demise was announced by Mehmet Bozdag, the producer of the popular series. He wrote on his Twitter handle:

Diriliş Ertuğrul dizimizde oyunculuğuyla projemize ruh katan sevgili Ayberk Pekcan Hakk'a yürümüştür.

Dar-ı bekaya yürüyen Ayberk abimize Allah’tan rahmet, ailesine ve sevenlerine sabırlar diliyorum. Hepimizin başı sağ olsun.#AyberkPekcan pic.twitter.com/SQMum6lpfb

Our brother, Ayberk Pekcan, who played a significant role in our popular TV series, Dirilis Ertuğrul, with his acting prowess has passed on.

Artuk Bey would be remembered for his excellent performance in Dirilis Ertuğrul. More importantly, as an experienced doctor and a respected bey of the Dodurga tribe, he rose to be the most trusted, loyal, and the right man to Ertuğrul Gazi.

Many of his fans have poured torrents of tribute on him on social media:
