Dr. Abdul Adedotun Ibrahim on Monday, May 22, received his letter of appointment as the substantive Rector of Yaba College of Technology, YABATECH, Lagos.
The official presentation was done by the Hon. Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, at his office in Abuja, with the approval of Alhaji Muhammadu Buhari, President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Muslim News gathered that the Chairman, Council of the College, Barrister Lateef Fagbemi (SAN) took time away from the election tribunal, also in the FCT, to be part of the historical occasion.
Dr. Abdul is the first Muslim Rector of the institution since its establishment in 1947.

The new rector will be taking over from Dr. Uduak Inyang-Udoh, who was appointed in January 30, 2023 as acting Rector of the college, after the expiration of the tenure of the immediate former Rector, Engr. Obafemi Owoseni Omokungbe on January 29, 2023.
Muslim News also learnt that until his appointment, Dr. Ibraheem was the Director Centre for Open Distance and Flexible e-Learning, Yaba College of Technology, Yaba, Lagos.
He joined the College in 1993 as lecturer II and rose to be Chief Lecturer.
Born in Lagos in 1965, Dr. Ibraheem holds a Bachelor and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Lagos.
He bagged another Master of Science in Industrial & Production Engineering from University of Ibadan. He proceeded to Okayama University, Japan for his Doctor of Philosophy (Engineering) between 2008 and 2011.
