In an effort to safeguard the integrity of the Hajj exercise and enforce pilgrimage regulations, the Saudi police have arrested 18 residents of Pakistani and Afghan nationalities for allegedly forging residency permits (iqamas), Nusuk cards, and Hajj wristbands.
The Makkah Region Police said the suspects were apprehended after security authorities uncovered the fraudulent documents and items. Legal procedures were subsequently completed before the suspects were referred to the Public Prosecution.
The authorities noted that the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to curb violations of Hajj regulations and ensure the safety and security of pilgrims during the 2026 Hajj season.
Meanwhile, the General Directorate of Public Security urged citizens and residents to strictly comply with Hajj rules and instructions. It also called on the public to report violations by calling 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and 999 in other parts of the Kingdom.
