A Nigerian author and multidisciplinary creative, Habib Gidado, has officially unveiled his latest novel, Thorns of Survival, a captivating literary work that explores themes of resilience, hope, transformation, and triumph over adversity.
The unveiling ceremony took place during a press conference held on Friday at the premises of Rawdatu-t-Tanzil Tahfeedh and Arabic School in Ile-Ife, Osun State, where the author, alongside literary enthusiasts, academics, media practitioners, and members of the creative industry, presented the book to the public and highlighted its central message of perseverance in the face of life’s most difficult challenges.
Speaking at the event, Gidado described Thorns of Survival as a reflection of the realities faced by many individuals who are forced to navigate hardship, loss, and uncertainty while striving for a better future.
According to the author, the novel seeks to inspire readers by demonstrating that, even in the darkest moments, determination, faith, and opportunity can pave the way for remarkable transformation.
Muslim News gathered that Thorns of Survival is a 167-page novel that tells the compelling story of a young girl named Morenikeji, whose life is shattered after a tragic car accident claimed the lives of her mother and siblings.
Faced with overwhelming grief and a series of life-altering challenges, including imprisonment, Morenikeji struggles to find purpose and direction amid seemingly insurmountable obstacles.
However, her fortunes take a dramatic turn when the personal assistant to a prominent oil magnate discovers her potential and becomes instrumental in changing the trajectory of her life.
Through opportunities connected with Saudi Aramco, Morenikeji and her father are offered a fresh start, setting them on a path toward redemption, growth, and renewed hope.
The novel vividly portrays the emotional, social, and economic realities confronting vulnerable individuals while emphasizing the importance of resilience, mentorship, and access to opportunities.
