MSCI graduates 15 marriage counsellors

The M-Solution Consulting International (MSCI), a marital counselling outfit, is set to graduate 15 trained and certified marriage counsellors who participated in the maiden edition of its “Training the Trainers” programme.

The highly anticipated event is billed for Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at the institute’s head office in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

Professor (Mrs) Mopelola Omoegun from the Department of Educational Foundations, University of Lagos and Commander Mikdad Gidado, Director, Islamic Affairs of the Nigerian Navy are the invited Special Guests at the event, which is slated for 12 noon (no African time).

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Muslim News, one of the facilitators, with over 20 years of marital counseling experience, Mr. Ogunmuyiwa Olagoke said the 15 graduating marriage counsellors are now certified to handle different marital issues after going through six weeks intensive training of both theory and practicum in Basics of Marriage Counselling.

Mr Ogunmuyiwa said there are only a few trained professional marriage counsellors to curb and manage different cases of challenges facing many marriages in the society.

“It therefore becomes pertinent for us, through this institution, to train more people towards becoming marriage counsellors. It is our strong belief that the first set of graduates will make us proud,” he said.

Some of the graduating counsellors who expressed their happiness to be certified noted that the task ahead of them is huge and as such, they are at their best to proffer solutions to marital crises.

Don’t die in silence – Mr Ayorinde

Mr Ayorinde AbdulGhaniyy said, at the end of the training, that the society should expect the best from them.

“We are here to provide solutions on how to manage, marital issues. The society should expect better service from us. My advice to people is that they should not die in silence. Marriage is made up of issues, understanding and coping with ourselves. We have been trained on the cores of counselling, couple counselling and issues that arise, causes, solutions and how to manage them.”

It’s time to give back to the society – Mrs Salvador

Another participant, Hajia Sakeenah Salvador expressed her appreciation to the institute for the opportunity.

In her words, “I thank MSCI for giving us this opportunity to partake in this course. It gave us the opportunity to be able to help people in managing and sustaining their marriages.

“Now that I’m a certified marriage counsellor, it means that my capacity has been built so that I will be able to contribute to the society, considering that the family is a unit of the society. A united and happy family would form a happy society, “ she concluded.

M-Solutions Consulting International is a multi-management consulting firm, which engages in marital counselling, match making, academic and parenting counselling, home management, career counselling among others.

It also collaborates with health and education experts and other professionals to help their clients in aspects they do not have expertise in.
