Sheikh (Dr.) Pantami emerges Muslim News Nigeria Minister of the Year

After careful and painstaking assessment of the efforts of current Federal Executive Council (FEC) Ministers, Muslim News Nigeria has announced the choice of the Hon. Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami as the best performing Muslim Minister in the cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Recall that Pantami was sworn-in as a Minister of the Federal Republic on August 21, 2019, for the first time alongside 42 others charged with different portfolios.

Their tenure as Ministers is expected to run with that of the federal administration till 2023, Muslim News investigations have revealed.

Pantami was previously the Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) before his appointment in 2019.

NITDA is one of the agencies under the Prof Pantami-led Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.

Muslim News’ findings revealed that the respected Islamic scholar who goes to work with his faith has recorded unprecedented
achievements within a year.

These achievements, we reliably gathered, were realized by implementing Digital Economy Projects for Digital Nigeria and resolving some key issues that had been lingering for over a decade.

In the last one year, Dr. Pantami has transformed the ministry and is working to establish it firmly to compete favourably with its counterparts in other countries.

The academic also combines his ministerial duties with Islamic propagation, and does not allow the two to mix or hamper each other.

Despite being an Islamic scholar, he doesn’t allow religious bias and sentiment take away his knack for professionalism and merit.

Prof Pantami has lots of Islamic programmes and lectures he attends to, after his daily official work schedule in his avowed mission of guiding people to the right path and educating them on Islamic principles.

Muslim News notes that during the month of the Ramadan Fast, he held series of Islamic events, which took a different dimension due to the prevailing condition of COVID-19 in the country.

Most of his lectures (especially in Hausa) held online and were transmitted via his social media handles.

Recall that his giant strides for Islam and the country saw him emerged the first runner-up of this medium’s Top 5 Nigerian Muslim Personalities of the Year 2019, following closely, the Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, who emerged winner.

The shrewd Information and Telecommunications Expert has however not relaxed as he carries on with his innovative projects under the ministry which has, within the short period of time, earned him both national and international accolades.

Speaking on the development, Publisher, Muslim News, Rasheed Abubakar congratulated the Hon. Minister for the milestone, charging him to remain committed to impactful and purposeful leadership.

Mallam Abubakar said despite the efforts of naysayers, Dr. Pantami has represented the Muslim constituency very well, while calling on other Muslim public officials to emulate him.

“In line with our mandate and mission of celebrating Muslim achievers across various sectors of our society, we deem it fit to nominate our amiable Sheikh, Dr. Isa Pantami as the best Muslim Minister for the wonderful job he has been doing.

“His ministry is a very crucial one given the shift of global attention to digital economy where Information, Communications and Technology are paramount. Dr Pantami has brought his wealth of experience both in the classroom and in public service to bare in overseeing the ministry.

“He is affable, friendly and easy-going. He pays attention to details and is always on the lookout for public yearnings as shown by his social media activities. Not many Ministers will be diligent and humane enough to the level of responding to the tweets of Nigerians as he does. His nomination is to charge him to do more for Nigerians through the ministry. I congratulate and rejoice with him.

In the next couple of days, Muslim News will be showcasing some of his achievements as the Hon Minister in charge of the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy within the last one year of his inauguration.

Is there any reward for good other than good? Qur’an 55: 60
