Renowned scholar, Dr. Bilal Philips hospitalised as Muslim faithful pray for his speedy recovery

Renowned Islamic scholar, Dr. Bilal Philips has reportedly been hospitalised following days of ill health due to an undisclosed ailment.

Dr. Phillips, who is the Founder and Chancellor of the Islamic Online University, is presently on oxygen support and glucose drip, according to a statement posted on his verified Facebook page.

Muslim News gathered, however, that the respected scholar is responding to treatment as his health status is improving.

“Dear respected viewers, followers and commentators. With a heavy heart we announce that our honorable Chancellor, Dr. Bilal Philips, has not been feeling well for some days now. He was admitted to the hospital yesterday. He is on oxygen support and glucose drip and improving. Alhamdulillah,” the statement read.

Abu Ameenah will today be tested for the novel Coronavirus that has ravaged the world in recent times.

Meanwhile, Muslim faithful in their thousands have bombarded his Facebook page to pray for the swift recovery of the controversial global Islamic preacher who had visited Nigeria on several occasions to spread the message of Islam.

Muslim News monitored some comments on social media, and share same here.

Ahmad Bn AbdurRofi Al-a’sqollany wrote, “I ask Almighty Allah, Lord of the Magnificent Throne, to make you well.”

Another Muslim brother, Fansu F Bojang prayed for Allah’s intervention in the medical condition of the scholar.

“May the Almighty Allah intervene to regain his good health and keep him healthier forever. All thanks be to the Almighty Allah,” he said.

Also supplicating, Awara Hussein, who said he would remember the Shaykh in his Dua wrote: “May Allah restore his good health, give him complete shifa and speed recovery, I will keep him in my dua.”

For his part, Asmine Zain also prayed for quick recovery, declaring the news was a sad one. She said, “May Allah recover him soon, and give him healthy and long life. Very sad news, our prayers are with you. May Allah restore your health. My prayers and best wishes for your complete recovery. Our prayers are with you Sheikh. Ameen.

We request each of you to please remember him in your Duas. May Allaah (SWT) restore his health, give him complete shifa, and a quick recovery. Ameen.
