I want to share a heartwarming story about the power of networking and the impact of great mentors.
Mid-2023, a friend in the US shared a post about a programme organized by some Muslims abroad for couples, and I joined virtually. It was a life-changing experience! 🙌 I met Dr. Sulaimon O. Ogunmuyiwa, the founder of First Class Muslim Foundation, and he facilitated a session that spoke to my soul.
I had seen an advert for the First Class Foundation’s 3-day mentorship programme on Facebook, but it was meant for 2022 graduates. I didn’t let that stop me, and I decided to give it a shot.
I reached out to Dr. Sulaimon Ogunmuyiwa after the couples seminar and explained myself not even knowing how he was connected to FCMF. To my surprise, he told me that it was certain that I can’t be shortlisted, but we should see how it goes. I put my hope in Allah and I was so positive about it.
Fast forward to August ending, Dr Sulaimon reached out to me via call that very good morning and I was amazed. He did not only get me a spot, but also covered my transport fare to and fro the programme! 🤩
The programme was a game-changer, equipping me with leadership skills and connecting me with amazing people. I met incredible individuals who have become part of my network, and I’ve been leveraging on the skills I learned ever since.
Fast forward to today, I ran into him at my current place of work, Lagos Business School, and it was like a divine reunion. 🙏 I’m so grateful for his influence in my life, and I can’t wait to see how Allah continues to use him to bless others!
Dr. Sulaimon O. Ogunmuyiwa, you’re a rare gem! 💎 Thank you for being a beacon of hope and inspiration. Your selflessness and kindness will forever be remembered!🙏
To everyone out there, don’t be afraid to give things a try, even if you think you don’t qualify. You never knew what opportunities you might miss! And always be on the lookout for opportunities to connect with people who can inspire and mentor you.
Thank you so much, Dr. SULAIMON O. OGUNMUYIWA.
A big “thank you” to all the brains behind First Class Muslim Foundation.
It is only Allah that can reward you all.
