A wave of nostalgia swept through Istanbul as familiar faces from Türkiye’s most beloved historical dramas reunited for the premiere of “Şule: Your Story, turning the event into more than just a film launch but a cultural moment in its own right.
The star studded gathering drew Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and First Lady Emine Erdoğan to the iconic Atatürk Cultural Center, where television, history and public life converged in a night that captured attention across the Muslim world.
Muslim News Entertainment gathered that some of the iconic actors from the globally acclaimed series Diriliş: Ertuğrul and Kuruluş: Osman have reunited in the new production “Şule: Your Story”, which premiered to great fanfare in Istanbul.
The glamorous launch event was attended by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and First Lady Emine Erdoğan, alongside senior officials and entertainment figures at the iconic Atatürk Cultural Center on May 22, 2026.
The premiere quickly became a nostalgic cultural moment for fans across the Muslim world, as familiar faces from both historical dramas came together again, reigniting excitement among audiences in Africa, the Middle East and Asia who have followed the rise of Turkish television epics over the past decade.
Produced for TRT’s international streaming platform tabii, the series tells the life story of “Şule Yüksel Şenler” , a prominent Turkish Muslim writer, journalist and activist widely respected for her work on women’s rights and religious identity in Türkiye. 
The production officially premiered on May 23, 2026 and is now available for streaming on tabii. It is reported to consist of eight episodes, though some listings suggest a possible extension to ten episodes.
Leading the cast is Yıldız Çağrı Atiksoy, known for her role as Malhun Hatun in Kuruluş: Osman, who now takes on the lead role of Şule Yüksel Şenler in this biographical adaptation.
Veteran actress Hülya Darcan, beloved for her portrayal of Hayme Ana in Diriliş: Ertuğrul, also appeared at the premiere alongside Didem Balçın, who played Selcan Hatun across both series.
Actor Rüzgar Aksoy, known for his role in Kuruluş: Osman, was also among the notable guests at the Istanbul event.
The gathering generated widespread excitement online as fans shared clips and images from the premiere, describing it as a powerful reunion of stars who helped shape the success of Turkish historical dramas. 
At the end of the ceremony, President Erdoğan and the First Lady were presented with a special portrait of Şule Yüksel Şenler by Communications Director Burhanettin Duran in recognition of her cultural and intellectual legacy.
Speaking at the premiere, Presidency Communications Director Burhanettin Duran described the production as a powerful reflection of women’s experiences in Türkiye, particularly the struggles and values surrounding the headscarf.
He said the series represents “Türkiye’s story,” adding that it symbolises freedom, coexistence and diversity within the country.
He further noted that Turkish television productions continue to attract global interest, stressing that they carry Türkiye’s cultural message to international audiences and reflect a nation positioned at the crossroads of continents while remaining rooted in its civilisational heritage.
The production further highlights Türkiye’s growing investment in faith centred and historical storytelling.
