* Calls for more just international system to tackle global crises, conflicts

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said Friday that the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip is “not being implemented” and that Israeli settler attacks are escalating in the West Bank, calling for a more just international system capable of confronting crises and conflicts.

Speaking at the opening of the 10th TRT World Forum in Istanbul, Erdoğan said the principle of honoring agreements, which forms the basis of international relations, is no longer respected, noting that the existing international system faces a structural crisis and global governance mechanisms are incapable of addressing current problems, according to Anadolu Agency .

Gaza’s deepening humanitarian crisis

Erdoğan said Gaza’s residents continue to face harsh humanitarian conditions amid shortages of fuel and equipment needed to operate hospitals and continued obstruction of humanitarian aid, noting the Strip has been reduced to rubble while its people struggle to survive.

He said more than 1,500 Palestinians were killed and nearly 5,500 injured over the past year due to Israeli attacks, adding that more than 270 journalists were killed during the war on Gaza, considering the targeting of journalists and double standards on press freedom as revealing the scale of contradiction in international positions.

Settler attacks in the West Bank

Erdoğan warned that Israeli settler attacks in the West Bank are becoming more brazen and aim to forcibly displace Palestinians from their land, noting that more than 3,000 attacks and violations against Palestinians were recorded during October alone.

He noted that an international delegation including parliamentarians, academics and politicians was prevented from entering the West Bank about two weeks ago, and pointed to the assault on a Washington Post photographer covering the olive harvest in the West Bank.

Türkiye to continue defending the truth

Erdoğan stressed that international institutions responsible for maintaining peace, security and stability stand powerless before what is happening in Gaza, affirming that Türkiye continues its efforts to reach peaceful solutions to crises and wars from Palestine and Yemen to Sudan and Ukraine.

“Türkiye will not retreat from its positions and will not submit to disinformation campaigns aimed at distorting its image and pressuring it internationally,” Erdoğan said.

The 10th TRT World Forum was held on November 6 and 7, 2026, in Istanbul, bringing together about 150 speakers from 43 countries to discuss regional crises, global challenges, energy, the economy, artificial intelligence and transportation.

Erdoğan’s remarks came amid continued Israeli occupation violations across Gaza and the West Bank. The OIC Media Observatory documented 1,453 Israeli violations against Palestinians during the seven-day period from October 27 to November 2, 2026, including 146 settler attacks, 94 of which targeted the olive harvest across 70 villages.
