Muslim News Nigeria has expressed its condolences to popular lawyer and co-host of TVC’s daytime talk show Your View, Nymat Akashat-Zibiri, following the death of her mother.
Akashat-Zibiri announced the death on Saturday, September 19, 2026, a day after her mother passed away.
She shared the news on her social media platforms with the Islamic declaration, “Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’un,” meaning, “Surely, we belong to Allah and to Him we shall return.”
In her tribute, the lawyer described her late mother as a woman whose life was defined by love, kindness and faith.
She also remembered her as her first teacher, greatest supporter and a constant source of prayers, reflecting on the important role her mother played in her life.
In a condolence statement signed by the publisher of Muslim News Nigeria, Rasheed Abubakar, on Saturday, September 26, the newspaper expressed sympathy with Akashat-Zibiri and her family over the loss.
Abubakar described the deceased as a mother whose impact would continue to live through the values, love and support she gave her children.
“On behalf of the entire Muslim News Nigeria family, I extend our heartfelt condolences to Sister Nymat Akashat-Zibiri and her family on the passing of her beloved mother,” the statement said.
“May Allah forgive her shortcomings, grant her Al-Jannatul Firdaus and give the family the strength and patience to bear this painful loss.”
Akashat-Zibiri has maintained a close relationship with Muslim News Nigeria and has supported the newspaper’s work and efforts to promote positive narratives about Islam and Muslims.
She is also one of the Muslim women recognised by the newspaper under its 30 Muslim Women of Substance initiative, which celebrates Muslim women making notable contributions to society.
Muslim News Nigeria prayed for Allah’s mercy upon the deceased and for comfort and strength for Akashat-Zibiri and other members of the family.
The newspaper also prayed that Allah would reward the deceased for the good she did during her lifetime and admit her into Al-Jannatul Firdaus.
