Musa vs Mahrez: 2 Muslim Stars to watch out for in today’s Nigeria/Algeria clas

The biggest football event in Africa, the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, famously known as the Total AFCON Cup will take another dimension today when two of the best teams in Africa; the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Desert Foxes of Algeria lock horns at the semifinal stage.

Muslim News x-rays two Muslim stars to watch out for in tonight’s match – the Nigerian star winger Ahmed Musa and the Algerian maestro striker Riyad Mahrez.

Musa, who plays for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Arabian league, is the captain of the Nigerian team, well known for his heroic play at the 2018 World Cup group stage game against Iceland.

The number 7 Musa, who is well known for making Sajidatu Shukur(prostration of thanks) mostly when he scores, is a player the Algerian defense needs to be wary of.

The former CSKA Moscow player, who is also known for his philanthropy and charity, played a crucial role in the left flank against South Africa with his speed, which is known for always making defenders be on their back foot.

Musa hopes to help Nigeria triumph into the finals after today’s game.

Another star to watch out for in today’s game is the Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez, who is also the captain of the Algerian national team and one of the biggest threats to the Super Eagles.

His sky high confidence, dribbling skills and finishing acumen are all what the Nigerian defense needs to be wary of.

After helping Algeria finish as group leader without dropping a point, Mahrez anticipates a tough match in today’s clash.

He already has two goals to his name in the tournament and is optimistic his side will claim victory in the encounter.

Today’s match may likely look like the replay between the two teams at the 1990 edition of the continental tournament, where Algeria, being the host nation, defeated Nigeria in the finals.
