Nigerian Muslimah bags distinction in Biotechnology from UK varsity

I dedicate feat to Allah; then, my family

Mrs. Ruqayyah Adelakin has made Nigeria and the entire Muslim Ummah proud by graduating with distinction from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom, where she obtained a Master’s degree in Biotechnology.

The Muslimah in hijab, who hails from Ibadan, the most populous city of Oyo state, had her Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH).

Ms. Adelakin, an alumnus of Vanguards Academy, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, couldn’t hide her excitement as she thanked Allah for the feat.

Speaking with Muslim News, she said, “I would like to dedicate this achievement to Almighty Allah for always making way for me all through my academic sojourn. Then, my family for their amazing and immeasurable support.

“Bagging a Masters degree in Biotechnology which is quite different from my undergraduate degree took a lot of prayers, dedication, hard work and incredible support from my family and friends.

“I enjoy learning, spending time with my family and photography,” she added.
