How we disbursed N5.3bn Hajj 2023 refunds, NAHCON gives breakdowns, urges pilgrims to make claims

Prof Saleh Usman

In a bid to uphold transparency and accountability in the management of Hajj operations, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, under the leadership of Prof Abdullahi Saleh Usman has given details of its shared N5.3bn refunds among State Pilgrims Welfare Boards (SPWBs) and tour operators for poorly rendered services during the 2023 Hajj.

The commission, therefore, urged pilgrims who participated in the 2023 Hajj to contact their respective SPWBs or tour operators to claim their refunds, adding that each pilgrim is entitled to receive a refund of N61,080.00.

NAHCON, therefore, called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission to monitor the refunds “in the interest of transparency and due process.”
